South Park Episode On Quick Time

T_ Digi___ VT_

O Digital TV VTR half ...
When VTR announced that it would offer digital TV, I got really happy. As a fan of A / V (audio / video) I like a good picture and good sound quality, which is far from analog cable to deliver. And at home we had hired a premium channel, we delivered corresponded digital decoder D-Box "free" (of course, an equal pq has to pay for the channel, so no more free quotation marks). He arrived Altira decoder and I started to do tests ... image quality far superior to analog cable, at least in the channel "digital" ...

a parenthesis: no channels coming digitally from the source (HBO, Warner, Sony, for example.) And others that were digitized at the headend of VTR (national channels, MTV, TVE, etc.). Digital channels from home had the grace to have a very good image quality, and allows changing the language of the subtitles and audio. VTR digitized channels looked better than normal cable because they brought no snow.

retaking the channels looked great, HBO looked almost as good as a DVD. The program guide is very good ... until then everything was going well. Therefore, decided to hire a D-Box to the TV in my bedroom. That started the trouble ... I soon realized that the channels could be heard in mono ... I thought they were some, but then verify that all channels are heard in mono. HBO and Cinemax Cinecanal, they looked almost as DVD, and be stopped from one day to another ... what happened? VTR apply for a one hour delay to these signals to make the premiere on Sunday starting at 10 pm and not at 9 as it comes in the source signal. to implement this delay, the signal is recorded and redigitized to send home, thereby losing the original quality.
weekend for Father's Day, the pay per view channels were free, so "bought" several films. The image quality was ... BAD. A VHS looked better.

For all this, I decided to send a fax to VTR (a fax so we can explain everything in detail) I got to send me a technician to the house, which was ... nothing. Since nothing could be done. Not your fault that applies VTR delay or that the channels are heard in mono.
reading forums, I realized I'm not the only one with the problem of mono audio. All D-Box (Motorola DCT700) are mono, as was confirmed by a person of technical assistance by phone.

So, in summary, the D-Box hire what you can expect:

Pros: Programming Guide
-very good
"In the digital channels from home, good image quality music
-Channel and radios

Cons: mono sound
-ALL channels (including music channels and radios)
-quality image on PPV is BAD
-quality image on HBO, and Cinemax Cinecanal is BAD.
-Cuesta $ 1990 per month.

I'm pretty disappointed with the T_ Digi___ of VT_, as I feel that a product is launched to fast and not thinking of demanding customers. Do not think I'm asking a lot. Pq
If not get used to the programming guide, now return the decoder. For now I think and I will keep calling VTR when you are bored to berate stalk at the product.

Double Blade Skate Sharp

Renumbering

In August, comes a change in numbering for phones in Chile. Since 19 August there will be that add a 9 to the numbering (such as area code). That if the only way to make a change to fixed network (or international).

If today a cell phone is +56 9xxx xxxx, then it will become +56 9 9xxx xxxx. If +56 8xxx xxxx, then becomes +56 9 8xxx xxxx. To call from landline, will be marked 09 and 09 9xxxxxxx 8xxxxxxx.
From another cell will continue to make the same (or 8xxx 9xxx xxxx xxxx).

For all these changes, the other day we had to go to software update notification for missed calls Entel PCS (the day before did the same in Movistar, although I was not). As a service that is running, the change had to do early, so as to affect as few people as possible.

The photo was taken at 3:15 AM and is in the equipment room in the basement of the tower Entel. Posted by Picasa
